Coventry City are finalising the capture of Aston Villa attacker Callum O’Hare on loan as he prepares to undergo a medical today, Football Insider understands.
A Coventry source has told Football Insider that the terms of the loan have been agreed and O’Hare has been given the green light to have a medical at the club later today.
It remains to be seen whether Coventry can complete the deal ahead of their League One clash against Gillingham tomorrow.
Manager Mark Robins has revealed this week that the signing of O’Hare is on the cards and has spoken of the youngster’s potential, but a deal has yet to be formally announced.
The source explained that manager Dean Smith and the Villa coaching staff believe a temporary move to Coventry would be ideal for O’Hare’s development.
The versatile forward spent the second half of last season out on loan at League Two Carlisle United, where he scored three times and provided three assists in 16 appearances.
City line third in League One after four games, two points off the top, ahead of their Gillingham clash.
In other Aston Villa news, Football Insider can reveal that the club are in talks over agreeing a deal with a rising star.
