Burton Albion are poised to sign Everton forward Nathan Broadhead on loan in a deal that is set to be finalised today, Football Insider understands.
The Merseysiders have tied the 21-year-old down to a new contract and simultaneously given him the green light for him to head to the League One side.
An Everton source has told Football Insider that the club have agreed the terms of a loan move with Burton and the move is set to be completed imminently.
The contracts have been finalised and there is a likelihood that it will be be announced today, or within the next 24 hours.
It is regarded as a coup by Burton, who have got the green light from Everton to sign the youngster ahead of a number of Football League clubs.
Burton boss Nigel Clough has been keeping tabs on Broadhead for some time and his plans for the player convinced the Premier League giants to send him to the Pirelli Stadium.
Everton manager Marco Silva has been impressed by Broadhead during pre-season, but feels the player will benefit by going out on loan in search of regular first-team football before challenging for a spot in the Toffees side.
The 21-year-old made his first-team debut for Everton in the Europa League win over Apollon Limassol in December 2017 and he has been a regular for the club’s Under-23s.
In other Everton news, it can be REVEALED that the club have agreed the terms of a £29million deal.
