Sources: Crystal Palace agree to sign Dylan Reid after Celtic talks

Crystal Palace have agreed to sign St Mirren sensation Dylan Reid after he held Celtic talks, sources have told Football Insider.

The London club are putting the finishing touches to the capture of the midfielder, 17, ahead of Tuesday’s transfer cut-off.

Palace have reached a full agreement with St Mirren over a deal after already agreeing terms with the player.

Reid is heading south of the border after talking to Celtic over a potential move.

He is regarded as a huge talent in his homeland after becoming the youngest debutant in Scottish Premiership history shortly after his 16th birthday.

The central midfielder has made five appearances for St Mirren this term and has been a regular fixture on their bench in all competitions.

Reid made his debut for Scotland’s Under-19 side in November after experience at Under-18 and Under-17 level.

The Kilburnie-born ace, who is out of contract at the end of this season, previously had a trial at Benfica and attracted interest from giants Bayern Munich.

St Mirren sit seventh in the Scottish Premiership – some 34 points adrift of leaders Celtic.

Premier League Crystal Palace have earned a reputation for bringing through some of the best youngsters in the English top flight.

Tyrick Mitchell, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Wilfried Zaha, and Nathaniel Clyne have come through the club’s academy in recent years.
