Sources: Crystal Palace expecting Adam Wharton bids, January exodus intensifies
Crystal Palace are expecting to receive offers for Adam Wharton in the summer transfer window as they continue to sanction big-name exits.
Oliver Glasner has confirmed he will leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season, while Marc Guehi has joined Man City and Jean-Philippe Mateta is close to leaving.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, the 21-year-old will not be allowed to leave Crystal Palace in this transfer window.
Glasner is determined not to further weaken his squad after losing important parts of his squad, with Palace at risk of being sucked into a relegation battle.
However, a number of clubs including Liverpool and Man United are lining up moves for the summer window, when Palace may be forced to cash in.

Crystal Palace make Adam Wharton transfer plan
Football Insider revealed on 18 January that Man United could move for Wharton in the summer, with a January deal ruled out as things stand.
The England international is on the list of a number of top clubs across Europe, with the likes of Real Madrid also keeping a close eye on his development.
However, Crystal Palace have no plans to let him leave mid-way through the season and are not expecting any offers to arrive before the deadline.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “I don’t see Palace willing to let him go with everything else that’s been going on at the club.
“There’s no doubt there will be interest in Adam Wharton coming to summer transfer window.
“Liverpool are admirers of him, Manchester United are also admirers of him as well and there’s interest from other Premier Leagues and from abroad.

“Look, I’m sure Palace are readying themselves for interest and offers for Adam Wharton in the summer transfer window. They won’t consider letting him go now in January.
“They’ll face a real fight to keep him in the summer window with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea plus others probably all very much interested in the 21 year old.”
Jean-Philippe Mateta closes in on Crystal Palace exit
Mateta’s name has hardly been out of the news this month as he continues to push for a move away from Selhurst Park amid plenty of interest.
Glasner confirmed in his pre-match press conference that the striker will not play against Nottingham Forest as his head is not in the right place to feature.
This comes after former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Crystal Palace will sell Mateta as “he doesn’t want to be there”.

Both Nottingham Forest and Juventus have seen offers turned down by Palace in recent weeks, but AC Milan have now emerged as the front-runners.
This comes after Football Insider first revealed in November that AC Milan were keeping tabs on Mateta with a potential mid-season move in mind.
