Sources: Crystal Palace regularly scouting Celtic star Kyogo Furuhashi

Crystal Palace are plotting a summer swoop for Celtic star Kyogo Furuhashi, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed the London club have watched the 28-year-old forward on several occasions this season.

Palace are drawing up a shortlist of several targets as they prepare for the possibility of Wilfried Zaha leaving the club on a free transfer when his contract expires in June.

It is believed a bid of around £15million could be enough to secure Furuhashi’s services this summer.

The Japan international has become a firm fan favourite at Celtic since joining the club for a reported fee of £4.6million in 2021.

He has notched 26 goals and five assists in 40 appearances for the Hoops this season – and leads the scoring charts in the Scottish Premiership with 20 strikes.

The forward’s first season in Scotland was also a success – he managed 20 goals and five assists in 33 games across all competitions.

Furuhashi is under contract at Parkhead until May 2025.

Crystal Palace must first stave off the threat of relegation to the Championship before pulling the trigger on summer deals.

The Eagles are 12th in the Premier League table but are just four points clear of the drop zone with nine games to play in the 2022-23 campaign.

The Londoners’ managerial situation is also up in the air going into the summer, with Roy Hodgson signing a short-term deal after replacing Patrick Vieira late last month.

The Hoops are nine points clear of Old Firm rivals Rangers.
