Sources: Destiny Udogie agrees terms with Tottenham as two marquee signings close

Tottenham have agreed personal terms with Destiny Udogie after having a £20million buy-to-loan bid accepted by Udinese, sources have told Football Insider.

The left-back, 19, will undergo a medical in Italy, where he will remain for the rest of the season on loan back at Udinese.

Spurs have agreed to pay an initial £15m for Udogie rising to £20m including add-ons.

He will become the club’s seventh summer signing after the arrivals of Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Djed Spence, Clement Lenglet and Fraser Forster.

However, Udogie is not expected to be the last major signing at Spurs this summer.

It is believed, sources say, that Tottenham are hopeful of one other marquee signing before the 31 August transfer cut-off.

Tottenham already have strong competition at left wing-back and are happy for Udogie to continue his development at Udinese.

Ryan Sessegnon started the 4-1 win over Southampton on Saturday (6 August) with Ivan Perisic making his Spurs debut from the bench.

Udogie played 35 times in Serie A in 2021-22 for Udinese on loan from Hellas Verona before an obligatory purchase option was triggered earlier this summer.

His form for Udinese earned him a call up to the Italy Under-21s and he now has four caps to his name.

Tottenham have favoured the Italian market since Fabio Paratici took over as managing director of football last June (2021).

Pierluigi Gollini, Christain Romero, Rodrigo Bentancur, Dejan Kulusevski and Perisic have all signed from Serie A club since last summer.

After their thumping win over Southampton, Antonio Conte’s side are next in action on Sunday (14 August) when they travel to Chelsea.

In other news, a Tottenham expert has tipped Harry Winks to join Nottingham Forest after a development.
