Sources: Dortmund respond as Liverpool make approach to sign Jude Bellingham

Borussia Dortmund have told Liverpool and Man United that Jude Bellingham will not be sold this summer, Football Insider understands.

Both of the Premier League giants have enquired about luring the 18-year-old from the Bundesliga outfit.

But a recruitment source has told Football Insider that Dortmund have no intention of selling Bellingham on top of Man City-bound Erling Haaland.

The German club are instead working on extending the contract of the midfielder after what has been a brilliant season for him to date.

As revealed by Football Insider last month (30 March), Dortmund are attempting to convince Bellingham to stay by increasing his salary and also signing his younger brother, the 16-year-old Birmingham winger Jobe Bellingham.

Jude Bellingham’s current contract runs until the summer of 2025.

The England international has established himself as a regular starter at the Signal Iduna Park since his arrival in July 2020.

Across all competitions this season he has contributed six goals and 13 assists in 40 appearances.

Bellingham has also cemented himself as a regular in Gareth Southgate’s England squad over the past 12 months.

The centre-midfielder is expected to play a major role for the Three Lions in this year’s World Cup.

Man United

Liverpool are interested in Bellingham as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his ageing midfield this summer.

Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara and James Milner are all over the age of 30, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has fallen out of favour at Anfield.

In other news, a finance guru has claimed Liverpool are on course for ‘huge’ boost as £2million already in the bag.
