Sources: Ethan Robson undergoing MK Dons medical after deal agreed

Ethan Robson is undergoing a medical at MK Dons ahead of free transfer, Football Insider understands.

The 25-year-old is available as a free agent following his release from Blackpool.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Robson has agreed a move to the League One side and is having a medical today.

Robson spent the first half of last season on loan at MK Dons.

He contributed one goal and one assist in 23 games before returning to Bloomfield Road after Christmas.

Dons boss Liam Manning has been keen to re-sign Robson on a permanent basis after failing in an attempt to do so in January.

The League One side had two bids rejected by Blackpool for the centre-midfielder in the winter window.

They are now close to beating a number of other clubs to the midfielder’s signature.

Born in Houghton-Le-Spring, Robson came through Sunderland’s academy system.

He made his first-team debut for the Black Cats in September 2017 in an EFL Cup defeat to Everton.

The Englishman spent a large portion of his professional time at the Stadium of Light out on loan at clubs such as Dundee FC and Grimsby Town.

In total, Robson made 14 appearances for his boyhood club.

The centre-midfielder left Sunderland to join Blackpool on a free transfer in August 2020.

He made 38 appearances for the Tangerines prior to the announcement of his release last month (10 May).
