Sources: Everton plotting to sign Tyrese Campbell – even if they go down
Everton are plotting a move for Stoke City striker Tyrese Campbell this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Campbell, son of former Toffees hero Kevin Campbell, is the top target for the Merseyside club as they look to bolster their attacking options.
Everton are growing increasingly confident that they can lure Campbell to Goodison Park regardless of whether they survive relegation or not this season.
The Blues currently sit 19th in the Premier League table, and goals have proved to be a huge issue for Sean Dyche’s side this season.
Everton have scored only 25 goals this season – the least of any Premier League club in 2022/23.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has endured another frustrating and injury-hit campaign, while Neal Maupay has been unable to fill the void left by Richarlison at Goodison Park since his £15million move from Brighton last summer.
In contrast, Campbell, 23, has enjoyed a productive campaign in the Championship with Stoke – he has scored nine goals and registered five assists in 39 league games so far this season.
A new striker is a top priority for Dyche this summer, and Campbell’s experience scoring in the EFL could serve Everton well if they do drop into the Championship next season.

Another option on the radar for the Toffees is Arsenal star Folarin Balogun, who has spent the current season on loan at French club Reims.
As revealed by Football Insider sources, Balogun has informed the Gunners he wants to be promised a spot in the Arsenal first-team, and it could open the door for Everton to swoop.
