Sources: Fabio Carvalho could leave Liverpool for new club next season as overhaul begins
Liverpool are open to sending Fabio Carvalho on loan next season, sources have told Football Insider.
The 20-year-old’s contract with the Reds runs until 2027 but he could be spending next season away from Anfield.
Carvalho joined the Merseysiders from Fulham last summer and put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the club.
But the midfielder has struggled to make his mark on Jurgen Klopp’s side, featuring in just 12 Premier League games this season for a total of 335 minutes top-flight football this season.
Despite the Reds’ problems in the middle of the park, Klopp has been reluctant to fully utilise the attacking midfielder.
The club could now accept a loan offer for Carvalho from a Premier League club who can persuade Liverpool they will use him regularly next season.
Last season, Carvalho made 38 appearances for Fulham across all competitions and netted 11 goals and provided eight assists, helping them to secure promotion to the top flight.
Liverpool are preparing to undergo a massive overhaul of their midfield this summer after what has been a lacklustre campaign that could see the club finish without Champions League football next year.
The club were looking likely to land Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham in the upcoming window, but his potential £130million price tag has forced Klopp to abandon any deal.

On Wednesday (12 April), Football Insider revealed that the Reds are now planning to spend up to £200m on midfielders this summer, with the hope of bringing in two or three new arrivals.
Chelsea’s Mason Mount and Wolves’ Matheus Nunes are both targets for the club this summer, as well as Alex Mac Allister from Brighton.
