Sources: Four Rangers midfielders set to leave this summer after Mallik Tilman reveal

Rangers are laying the groundwork for an overhaul of their ageing midfield this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Steven Davis (38), Scott Arfield (34), and Ryan Jack (30) are all out of contract at the end of this season, with no sign of any potential renewals in the near future.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (14 February) that there are “question marks” over the future of Glen Kamara with interest from Premier League and European clubs.

Malik Tillman is also set to return to Bayern Munich when his loan expires this summer – with their youth manager suggesting the attacking midfielder is on course to play a part in their first team.

Rangers moved to add Belgium Under-21 midfielder Nicolas Raskin, 21, in January – and he made his mark at Ibrox when he laid on the assist for Antonio Colak’s goal in the 3-2 cup win over Partick Thistle on Saturday (11 February).

Davis, Arfield, and Jack have racked up a combined total of more than 750 appearances during their time at the Glasgow giants.

Michael Beale has preferred a 4-2-3-1 setup since taking over at the club in November last year (2022), with John Lundstram one of the ever-presents in his side.

Allan McGregor, Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, and Filip Helander are all also out of contract in May.

Sources told this site on Tuesday (14 February) that big-earning defender Helander is not expected to play for the club again.

Rangers are also plotting to sign a new goalkeeper this summer as they prepare for McGregor’s potential retirement this summer.

Beale’s side are nine points adrift of Celtic in the Scottish Premiership but can wrest a trophy away from their rivals when they face off in the Scottish League Cup final this month (26 February).
