Sources: Fulham plan to sell two big names before signing striker
Fulham remain in the market for a striker this summer amid Viktor Gyokeres’ imminent move to Sporting CP, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed last month (9 June) that Crystal Palace and Fulham were readying offers for Coventry City star Gyokeres.
But the Sweden international is reportedly now closing in on a big-money move to Portuguese giants Sporting.
Fulham were keen to add Gyokeres to their ranks in order to ease the burden on star man Aleksandar Mitrovic – and remain in the market for a striker signing.
However, the Cottagers have been hamstrung by their inability to move fringe duo Carlos Vinicius and Rodrigo Muniz on.
Football Insider revealed last month (11 June) that Fulham are open to offers for Vinicius and Muniz as they look to raise funds and clear space for a new arrival.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that there has been “no movement” for the duo as of yet.
Marco Silva’s side hit a blip during Mitrovic’s eight-game ban earlier this year – picking up nine of a possible 24 points and effectively ending their challenge for European qualification.
Vinicius was the Serbian’s replacement during that ban – but only notched five goals and three assists in 34 appearances in all competitions in the 2022-23 campaign.

Mitrovic hit 15 goals in 28 games across all competitions as Fulham achieved a 10th-place finish and reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
The Cottagers are yet to make a summer signing – while Joe Bryan, Paulo Gazzaniga, Shane Duffy and Steven Sessegnon have all departed.
