Sources: Gary Bowyer agrees Blackpool deal after quitting Dundee
Blackpool are set to name Gary Bowyer as their new manager, sources have told Football Insider.
The Tangerines were recently relegated to League One after a disappointing Championship season, but they have moved quickly to agree terms with the 51-year-old manager.
Bowyer led Dundee to the Scottish Championship title this season in dramatic fashion, beating nearest rivals Queen’s Park 5-3 on the final day.
However, less than a week after lifting the trophy Bowyer left his post in Scotland amid links to a Blackpool return.
A deal is now in place between the two parties and an announcement of Bowyer’s appointment at Bloomfield Road is imminent.
Bowyer has previously enjoyed success at Blackpool during his two-year spell in charge of the side between 2016 and 2018.
He took charge of the club on a rolling one-year contract following their relegation to League Two and was able to immediately gain promotion back to League One in his first year in charge via the play-offs.
Bowyer remained in charge for the 2017/18 season but resigned from his role the following summer after leading the side to a 12th-placed finish in League One.
He left the club with a 37 per cent win rate having won 42 of his 115 matches in charge of the club.

Bowyer returned to management in 2019 and has since taken charge of Bradford City, Salford City and Dundee.
He’ll return to Blackpool with a mass of experience having taken charge of 404 matches during his 11-year managerial career.
