Sources: Huddersfield Town plot move to sign keeper after Lee Nicholls update
Huddersfield Town are searching for a new goalkeeper on loan this month after Lee Nicholls suffered a serious shoulder injury, sources have told Football Insider.
Nicholls, 30, missed last weekend’s FA Cup clash with Preston and it is feared he may be forced to undergo surgery.
Huddersfield are now scouring the loan market on short notice to secure a new keeper for the remainder of the season.

Losing an established starter in the shape of Nicholls has come as a crushing blow to their Championship survival hopes.
Not only has Nicholls been a key member of Mark Fotheringham’s squad as his first-choice shot-stopper, but up until now he’s also played every minute of their Championship campaign.
Nicholls has kept six clean sheets in 25 league matches so far this season and while the Terriers sit 23rd in the table – their 32 goals conceded is a much better record than many of their relegation rivals.
The Merseyside-born goalkeeper only moved to the Yorkshire club in 2021 and immediately cemented his place as the No.1
He kept 19 clean sheets in what was a hugely successful debut season with Huddersfield, helping the team to the 2022 play-off final before their narrow defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Prior to his time at Huddersfield, Nicholls’ career began in Wigan where he spent six years making a handful of loan spells to Accrington Stanley, Northampton Town and Bristol Rovers among others.
He made a permanent switch to MK Dons in 2016 and spent the next five years with the League One side, making over 100 appearances for the club before joining Huddersfield upon the expiration of his contract.
