Sources: ‘Huge’ update on Raphinha-Leeds after West Ham make ‘concrete’ move
Leeds United will reject all offers for star man Raphinha this month, Football Insider understands.
West Ham have been linked with a surprise move for the Brazil international as they look to sign an attacker by Monday night.
A Leeds source has told Football Insider they have no intention of cashing in on Raphinha in this window.
It is said that the club are working on securing the 25-year-old to a “huge” new contract.
Leeds are believed to be confident of tying Raphinha down in the coming weeks.
A West Ham source has separately confirmed to Football Insider that the club do have a concrete interest in Raphinha and have asked about his availability.
But the Yorkshire giants will not cash in as they look to preserve their Premier League status.
Marcelo Bielsa has made no secret of his belief that Raphinha is the “outstanding” player at the club.
Moreover, his significance to the team has been amplified during the extended absences in recent months of Patrick Bamford and Kalvin Phillips.
Raphinhahas been a revelation since his arrival at Leeds from Rennes in the summer of 2020.
He was outstanding in his debut Premier League term and has carried on in that vein in what has been a more difficult second season in the top flight for the club.
Raphinha has made 19 Premier League appearances this campaign, all of which have been starts, and scored eight goals as well as supplied two assists.
