Sources: Hull City line up bid for Watford star Jeremy Ngakia
Hull City are lining up a bid for Watford defender Jeremy Ngakia, sources have told Football Insider.
The right-back, 21, has yet to feature for Watford this season and did not even make the squad for Monday’s (8 August) draw at West Brom.
Hull boss Shota Arveladze has made a new right-back a priority target before the window shuts and interest has been registered in former West Ham man Ngakia.
Now the Championship club are ready to make a formal move for the defender.
He joined Watford in the summer of 2020, after his contract at the London Stadium expired.
The London-born ace was a regular as the Hornets won promotion from the Championship in the 2020-21 season and started last season in the Premier League.
Across his time at Vicarage Road and West Ham, he has played 21 top-flight games, including 14 starts.
He still has two years left to run on his contract at Watford.
Hull City have been busy this summer under new owner Acun Ilicali with eight new players already through the door.
As quoted by Hull Live last week (5 August), Arveladze insisted he wanted more new signings.
Defence is a priority area for the Tigers with club captain Lewie Coyle the only fit senior right-back.

After an unbeaten start with a win over Bristol City and a draw with Preston North End, City face Bradford City in the EFL Cup on Tuesday (9 August).
They are next in Championship action on Saturday (13 August) when Norwich City visit the MKM Stadium.
In other news, Everton have made a decision on signing a Watford star.
