Sources: Jarrod Bowen could be tempted to quit West Ham on one condition

West Ham have endured a dismal start to the Premier League season so far after winning just one of their opening six games.

The decision to replace Graham Potter with Nuno Espirito Santo has led to suggestions they may now be heading in the right direction, but concerns have lingered.

West Ham fans are still protesting against the owners, with unrest refusing to die down behind the scenes as well as on the pitch amid a growing negative atmosphere.

As a result, speculation has begun to surround some of the Hammers’ best players, including Jarrod Bowen who has remained consistent despite their struggles.

Jarrod Bowen could be tempted to quit West Ham

West Ham were braced for offers for Bowen during the summer transfer window, although they had no plans to entertain any talks about his departure.

However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Bowen could be tempted to quit West Ham if their results do not improve following Nuno’s appointment.

Despite being happy at the London Stadium, sources say the England international wants to play at the top level and could move if the right opportunity emerges next summer.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “Bowen’s been probably the most consistent player for West Ham over the last couple of seasons. West Ham won’t really want to lose him.

“The only way something might change in Bowen’s future is if somebody does come in and try and test the water with an offer for Bowen, but he’s under long-term contracts at West Ham until 2030, so West Ham will be demanding a big, big fee.

“Obviously if West Ham are going to continue to struggle and be at the wrong end of the table in relegation fights, then something might happen.

“Bowen could think ‘I want to be playing at a higher level’, especially if he wants to continue to establish himself in the England fold going forward as well.

“As I said right now, Bowen’s long-term future remains at West Ham until somebody tries to prise him away.”

With the World Cup rapidly approaching, the forward will want to continue his top form, although his teammates’ struggled could have a direct impact on his involvement.

Bowen sets sights on England recognition under Thomas Tuchel

Thomas Tuchel‘s latest England squad was released on 3 September, and Bowen remains one of the forwards consistently in his selection.

However, during the last break, the West Ham star featured for just 14 minutes across two games against Andorra and Serbia, and remains well down the pecking order.

West Ham fans have called for Tuchel to be sacked as a result of Bowen’s lack of involvement, and questions are being asked about his place in the side.

Former Hammers and England full-back Glen Johnson told Football Insider in May that Bowen must kick on at West Ham to secure his place with the national team.

His future at the London Stadium may be tied to his England destiny, while his desire to play at the top level has led to new questions emerging.
