Sources: Joshua Zirkzee ‘frustrated’ as Man United exit decision emerges
Man United are weighing up what to do with Joshua Zirkzee ahead of the January transfer window with the striker out of favour under Ruben Amorim.
Having failed to start a single game for the Red Devils this season, the Dutchman is keen on a move away from Old Trafford.
Sources told Football Insider that Everton are in the race to sign Zirkzee given their troubles up top with Beto and Thierno Barry.
West Ham are also eager to sign Zirkzee following poor showings from forwards Niclas Fullkrug and Callum Wilson this campaign as the ex-Bologna man looks to force through a transfer.

Man United not in a rush to offload Zirkzee as he remains bottom of the pecking order
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, whilst he is not one of the first names on Amorim’s team sheet, the Netherlands international looks unlikely to be leaving any time soon.
Moreover, with the impact of AFCON on Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo, Zirkzee could be in line for a key role at Man United over the winter period.
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “A lot of the talk about his future has been about loan moves.

“I think it’s a case that Zirkzee is frustrated with his current role at Old Trafford. He finds himself well down the pecking order at Old Trafford with Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Mbeumo all ahead of him to play in the United front line.
“Zirkzee probably is keen to be playing regularly as he wants to be in that Netherlands squad for the World Cup.
“Villa are one of a number of clubs who have been linked with the former Bologna man, West Ham have been credited with an interest as well, but it does seem Manchester United are not rushing Zirkzee out the door.”
Man United unwilling to part with Kobbie Mainoo despite player’s protests
Amorim cannot easily be dissuaded from sticking to his principles and this applies to another out of favour Red Devil.

Sources told Football Insider that Man United still do not want to sell Kobbie Mainoo despite the player being frustrated with his limited minutes.
The Englishman has failed to start a single Premier League game in the 2025-26 season and a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup team is slipping away.
The 20-year-old has not won the approval of Amorim and will likely be blocked from a move away in January due the lack of depth in midfield.
