Sources: Leeds United hit by crushing PSR blow
Leeds United have endured a mixed start to the season so far but remain hopeful of surviving their first year back in the Premier League.
Daniel Farke’s side beat West Ham 2-1 on Friday night, boosting not only their confidence but also their chances of avoiding relegation this season.
While Leeds picked up a huge three points, they dealt potential relegation rivals a blow in doing so, while teams are them also dropped points.
In the meantime, Leeds are aiming to bolster their squad in the January transfer window in an effort to increase their odds of staying up with Farke at the helm.
Football Insider revealed on 25 October that Leeds are interested in signing Issouf Sissokho to strengthen their options in the middle of the park.
The likes of Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff arrived during the summer, but there is a feeling a new addition may be necessary as an alternative.

Leeds United’s January transfer plans hit by PSR blow
Football Insider previously revealed that Farke is aiming to strengthen his Leeds squad in the January transfer window to improve their odds of survival.
However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Leeds are pushing the limits of their profit and sustainability allowance and may be heavily restricted from doing business in the mid-season window.
This comes alongside Leeds’ interest in Sissokho, as Leeds may be forced to cash in on other players before spending on reinforcements.
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “Maybe Sissokho is an option that’s come up to Leeds and could be good value for money in that respect.
“He’s got 18 months left on his contract at Maccabi and I’m sure the opportunity for the Mali international to move to Premier League will be something that he would very much be interested in as well.
“I think a deal will be hard to do due to Leeds were pretty much maxed out on their PSR and FFP in the summer window when they spent heavily on a number of players as well.

“So it might mean that players might need to be moved on if they are to bring any new signings in like Sissokho, but he’s a young player with huge potential.
“As I said, Leeds are obviously keeping tabs on them. So let’s see if they follow up and firm up their interest.”
Sissokho would be open to joining Leeds in the mid-season window, but the deal will depend on whether they have room within their financial limitations.
Leeds’ chances of survival dealt major blow by PSR concerns
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 21 October that Leeds are prioritising signing a striker amid concerns about their attacking firepower.
There is a growing feeling that the Peacocks must add a more natural goalscorer to Farke’s side if they want to improve their chances of staying up.
Their inability to take chances consistently has emerged as an ongoing concern at Elland Road, with doubts about Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s form since he arrived.

Brown warned Football Insider on 16 September that Leeds are in big trouble as a result of their lack of firepower and are at growing risk of being relegated.
With PSR rules now set to limit their activity in January, they could struggle to land reinforcements and therefore be left short of goalscoring options.
