Sources: Leeds United line up Fletcher Boyd swoop
Leeds United and Newcastle United are tracking Aberdeen sensation Fletcher Boyd, sources have told Football Insider.
The Premier League duo are lining up offers for the Scottish midfielder after sending scouts to watch him as the Aberdeen Under-16s beat Rangers 4-2 on Sunday (23 April).
The 15-year-old scored a second half hat-trick as his side came from 2-0 down to a comfortable victory.
Rangers have also previously had interest in the midfielder.
Aberdeen have been in talks with Boyd over a new contract as they looked to fend off interest from other clubs.
The Dons are currently third in the Scottish Premiership after a surprising 2-0 win over Rangers at Pittodrie on Sunday (23 April).
If Barry Robson’s side can maintain their position until the end of the season they could be met with a place in the Europa Conference League third qualifying round.
Premier League sides Newcastle and Leeds could swoop on Boyd before he has a chance to enter the fold of the first team at Aberdeen.
Leeds are currently struggling at the bottom end of the English top flight and are facing the threat of relegation at the end of the season.

Newcastle on the other hand are flying at the top end and just thrashed top four hopefuls Tottenham 6-1 on Sunday (23 April).
The Magpies now have their eyes on a potential Champions League spot for next season after going six points clear of fifth placed Spurs with a game in hand.
