Sources: Leeds United plotting to sign Ryan Mmaee after development in last 24 hours

Leeds United are keeping close tabs on Ferencvaros striker Ryan Mmaee, sources have told Football Insider.

The Yorkshire giants are interested in a deal for Mmaee this summer but it depends on whether they remain in the Premier League.

Their chances have been boosted after a big win over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday (4 April) moved them into 13th in the Premier League.

The Whites are now two points clear of the drop zone with less then ten games left of the season and staying up could be integral if they want to sign Mmaee this summer.

The 25-year-old will have two years left on his contract at Ferencvaros at the end of the season.

Leeds have been regularly scouting the Moroccan, who has netted 12 goals in 31 appearances for the Hungarian side.

The Whites are on the hunt for a new striker given the injury problems of Patrick Bamford and have already signed Georginio Rutter from Hoffenheim.

Since his arrival in January, Rutter has made ten appearances for Javi Gracia’s side but is yet to find the back of the net for his new club.

In the first half of his season for Hoffenheim, Rutter scored two goals in 17 appearances for the Bundesliga club.

Bamford has struggled with injury problems throughout his time at Elland Road but has managed to make 24 appearances for the Yorkshire club this season.

But, the 29-year-old hasn’t been able to find his goalscoring form and has netted just four goals this season.
