Sources: Leeds United star Jack Harrison rejects Leicester City move

Jack Harrison is set to stay at Leeds United after rejecting a move to Leicester City, sources have told Football Insider.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have been pursuing the winger this month and are believed to have submitted a bid.

Leeds have lined up a deal for Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo in the event of Harrison’s potential departure before Tuesday’s deadline.

But the former Man City star has turned down Leicester’s advances and is now set to remain at Elland Road.

His future at the Yorkshire giants has been up in the air with his contract expiring in the summer of 2024.

The winger’s place in the side has been under threat in recent months due to the emergence of starlets Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto.

Harrison has notched two goals and seven assists in 20 appearances this season.

He joined the Whites on an initial loan deal in 2018 and has gone on to score 30 goals in 186 appearances for the club – including a tally of 10 strikes last season.

Football Insider revealed last month (8 December) that Leeds United were set to open contract talks with Harrison amid interest from Premier League high-flyers Newcastle United.

But no agreement has been reached as of yet with the wide-man into the final 18 months of his current deal.

Leeds United

Leeds United have wrapped up four signings this month – with Georginio Rutter, Max Wober, Weston McKennie, and Diogo Monteiro all bolstering the ranks at Elland Road.

Jesse Marsch’s side sit 15th in the Premier League ahead of their trip to Nottingham Forest on Sunday (5 February).
