Sources: Leeds United star Stuart McKinstry begins Motherwell medical as deal finalised
Leeds United midfielder Stuart McKinstry started a Motherwell medical on Tuesday after agreeing a deal, sources have told Football Insider.
This site broke the news earlier on Tuesday that the 19-year-old is heading back to his old club on a season-long loan following a breakthrough in talks.
McKinstry has already started a medical and is expected to complete the temporary transfer imminently.
Motherwell have reached an agreement with Leeds after beating Scottish rivals as well as English League Two outfit Hartlepool United to a deal.
Talks between the midfielder and Leeds over a new contract have reportedly hit an impasse.
The teenager’s current deal with the Whites is set to expire at the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

McKinstry left Motherwell in a deal worth up to £400,000 in July 2019.
He is now set to return to his boyhood club.
The centre-midfielder, who can also operate on the flanks, has made just two senior appearances for Leeds.
They have both come as a substitute.
Since moving to Elland Road, McKinstry has notched four goals and eight assists in 50 youth side games.
Jesse March’s side have let a number of their talented youngsters depart on loan this summer.
Charlie Cresswell, Leif Davis, and Jamie Shackleton have all joined EFL clubs on temporary deals to aid their development.
The Whites sit sixth in the Premier League table after two games.
