Sources: Lincoln City agree to sign Portsmouth star Reeco Hackett
Lincoln City are set to sign Portsmouth winger Reeco Hackett, sources have told Football Insider.
Lincoln have reached an agreement with League One rivals Portsmouth to sign Hackett for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old wide man has also agreed personal terms with the Imps, paving the way for the deal to be completed soon.
Hackett featured regularly in Portsmouth’s 2022/23 campaign, making 44 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring six goals and providing two assists.
He featured primarily as an impact substitute, with his 44 appearances last season resulting in a total of 2,032 minutes of first-team action.
Pompey fell just short of making the League One play-offs last season, finishing eighth – seven points behind sixth-placed Peterborough.
Lincoln achieved an 11th-placed finish under manager Mark Kennedy, who will hope that the addition of Hackett will improve his side heading into 2023/24.
Hackett has spent the past three years at Fratton Park after signing for Portsmouth in 2020.
He spent the first year of his Pompey career on loan at Bromley and Southend United, where he scored three minutes into his debut.

Prior to his Portsmouth move, Hackett spent time at Bromley, Charlton Athletic and Dagenham and Redbridge – where he started his career aged 18.
He has tallied up 79 total appearances for Portsmouth during his time on the south coast, scoring a total of 11 goals and registering five assists during that time.
