Sources: Liverpool and Tottenham set sights on transformed Wolves star Hwang Hee-chan after scouts blown away
Liverpool and Tottenham are monitoring red-hot Wolves star Hwang Hee-chan, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed the two Premier League giants are assessing the 27-year-old with a summer move in mind and are unlikely to swoop this month.
Scouts have been blown away by Hwang‘s performances for Wolves this season since his move into a centre-forward role.
The South Korea international, who will play at the Asian Cup this month, can play on the left, right and through the middle, and has particularly impressed in a more central role.
He has excelled in front of talent spotters with his direct, quick and powerful play and has become the talisman for Gary O’Neil’s side.
Hwang has notched 11 goals and three assists across 21 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
Despite already being on a deal running until 2026, Wolves chose to reward the forward’s progress by handing him a bumper new contract running until 2028 last month.
He joined the Midlands side on an initial loan from RB Leipzig in 2021 and put pen to paper on a permanent deal 12 months later.
Hwang has since notched 20 goals and seven assists during his time in England, with 18 of those strikes coming in the Premier League.
Liverpool and Tottenham are on the hunt for attacking reinforcements and are planning their business in advance – with any move for the Wolves star more likely to come in the summer window.

Spurs sit fifth in the table after 20 games while Jurgen Klopp’s side are top with a game in hand on their title rivals.
Football Insider revealed on Sunday (31 December) that the Merseysiders are closely monitoring Crystal Palace sensation Michael Olise and have dispatched top scouts to regularly watch him in action.
In other news, Liverpool plan to terminate defender deal.
