Sources: Liverpool braced for fresh Luis Diaz bid as new asking price revealed

Bayern Munich are preparing to submit an improved bid to sign Liverpool star Luis Diaz, sources have told Football Insider.

Liverpool have rejected an initial £59million offer for the 28-year-old, but remain open to negotiations amid a growing feeling that a deal can be agreed.

As a result, Bayern are set to return to the negotiating table with an improved bid as they step up efforts to land the Colombia international this summer.

Liverpool have privately said that offers of £69million could be enough to convince them to sell after the forward made clear he wants to leave the club.

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 14 July that Liverpool set a new price tag on Diaz as Arne Slot is reluctant to lose him but could be tempted at the right price.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed that Liverpool will let Diaz leave if he makes clear his desire to move on as he continues to flirt with other clubs.

Bayern Munich close in on signing Luis Diaz after Liverpool talks

Football Insider revealed on 13 July that Diaz is “in negotiations” over leaving Liverpool with extensive talks over a new contract at Anfield yet to progress.

Barcelona had been interested in a move, but recently completed the signing of Marcus Rashford, giving Bayern Munich a free run at signing the winger.

Saudi Pro League clubs have also shown an interest but it is not advanced as things stand.

Vincent Kompany’s side are the current front-runners in the race for his signature and are edging closer to an agreement on his final price.

Initial signs had suggested they were unlikely to meet Liverpool’s lofty asking price, but a fresh bid from Munich is set to test their resolve once again.

Arne Slot eyes Anthony Gordon deal after Luis Diaz latest

In what has already been a busy transfer window for Slot, there could yet be more big-name signings coming through the door at Anfield.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on 10 July that Liverpool remain interested in Anthony Gordon and are plotting a late-summer move.

Meanwhile, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider that Liverpool will step up their interest in Gordon if Diaz is sold in the coming weeks.

Gordon has been a long-term target for Slot’s side, and came very close to a move to Anfield last summer as sources say he was “very keen” on the switch.
