Sources: Liverpool player set for final game tonight before permanent transfer
Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella is in line to make his final appearance for the club tonight before quitting, Football Insider has learned.
The 22-year-old has spoken openly of his desire to return to Spain and revealed in a recent Marca interview he would like to do so when the transfer window reopens next month.
A Liverpool source has told Football Insider that Chirivella is likely to be granted his wish after featuring in tonight’s League Cup quarter-final against Aston Villa.
The Spaniard is set to be be one of the more experienced players in a youthful line-up lacking the senior stars, who are in Qatar preparing for the Club World Cup semi-final tomorrow night.
Under-23s boss Neil Critchley will manage the side at Villa Park, echoing his role overseeing the development side that will form the bulk of the starting line-up.
Chirivella has made two appearances for Liverpool’s senior side this season, both of which came in the League Cup.

He is out of contract at the end of the season and the January window offers the last opportunity for the Merseysiders to secure a fee for him.
He joined in 2015 but has made just seven appearances for the club, mainly in the domestic cup games, and has been out on loan three times.
With a plethora of international stars ahead of him in the Anfield midfield pecking order, the chances of Chirivella getting much more game time outside of the League Cup is extremely remote.
In other Liverpool news, it can be REVEALED that the club are working on another major deal after blizzard of agreements.
