Sources: Liverpool work on £30m Gravenberch deal after Bayern Munich U-turn
Liverpool could now return for £30million-rated Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch with a move for Crystal Palace’s Cheick Doucoure deemed too expensive, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Friday (25 August) that Palace will not sell Doucoure for less than £70million with just days remaining in the transfer window.
Gravenberch has been a long-term target for Liverpool, who have already lost out on both Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo to Chelsea.
However, Football Insider revealed last week (19 August) that Bayern Munich are unwilling to part with the 21-year-old this summer.
But a well-placed source has told Football Insider that the German giants have softened that stance and could be ready to discuss a deal for Gravenberch.
It is believed a bid of £30million could be enough for Liverpool to land the Netherlands international.
Man United are also long-term admirers of his – with Erik ten Hag managing the midfielder during his time at Ajax.
He cost Bayern a reported £16million last summer (2022) and signed a contract running until June 2027 after leaving the Dutch giants.
Gravenberch made 33 appearances across all competitions last season – but managed just three league starts.
He is yet to play a minute in the 2023-24 campaign having been an unused substitute in games against RB Leipzig and Werder Bremen.

Liverpool recently signed Japan and Stuttgart star Wataru Endo but are still in the hunt for midfield reinforcements after losing several players this summer.
The Reds have also added Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai but are short in defensive midfield after letting Naby Keita, Fabinho and ex-captain Jordan Henderson leave the club.
In other news, Saudi club could pay “astonishing” £600million to sign Mohamed Salah.
