Sources: Major update on third Rangers bid for Whittaker as signing agreed
Rangers are hopeful of adding Morgan Whittaker to the signing of Todd Cantwell as they look to close both deals, sources have told Football Insider.
The Glasgow giants are readying a third bid for Swansea City’s Whittaker after their second offer of £1.5million, first revealed by this site on Tuesday morning (17 January), was rejected.
It comes as Cantwell heads to Glasgow on Friday to complete the formalities of his transfer from Norwich City including medical tests and to put pen to paper on a contract.

It is believed that Rangers will pay around £1m for the playmaker, but they don’t want their January spending to end there.
The club’s plan is also to complete a deal for Whittaker before the window shuts, after learning the forward is keen to make the move to Ibrox this month.
The winger shone during the first half of the season on loan at Plymouth, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists before being recalled by Swansea earlier this month.
He has racked up 16 league goals in almost 90 appearances in the Championship and League One during his spells with the Swans, Plymouth, Lincoln, and Derby.
Whittaker can play on the right flank as well as in an attacking midfield berth.
Rangers’ right-wing options Scott Wright and on-loan star Rabbi Matondo are yet to score in Scottish Premiership action this season – prompting Michael Beale to look for an upgrade.

The Ibrox club sit nine points adrift of first-place Celtic after 22 top-flight games this season.
Beale’s side will also face the Hoops in the final of the Scottish League Cup on 26 February.
