Sources: Major update on Tottenham bid to sign Wilfried Zaha

Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha is no longer a priority target for Tottenham and Arsenal ahead of the summer window, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that the 30-year-old is still on the target lists of the two London giants but he has slipped down them going into the summer and not seen as a priority.

That could change for Tottenham and Arsenal if they can’t land their top targets, and as their recruitment plans take greater shape over the coming months.

Zaha is out of contract at Crystal Palace at the end of the season and has gone on record about his desire to play Champions League football often during his time at Selhurst Park.

Football Insider revealed Tottenham interest in the Ivory Coast international in December going into the January window.

Former boss Mauricio Pochettino also twice tried to prise him away from Palace during his Spurs reign.

Arsenal have also been widely linked with Zaha in the past, with manager Mikel Arteta personally revealing his admiration for the long-serving Palace star.

“I think he’s a terrific player and I think the impact he’s had in the Premier League in the last few years has been phenomenal,” Arteta said in January 2020.

It is believed other top-flight sides are still interested in the forward as he enters the final months of his contract.

Zaha came through the Eagles ranks but endured an ill-fated spell at giants Man United between 2014 and 2015 after joining the Old Trafford club for a reported £15million.

He has racked up 450 appearances for his boyhood club, registering 89 goals and 75 assists.

The winger has scored six goals in 20 starts across all competitions this season – but is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Tottenham moved to add winger Arnaut Danjuma on loan last month, while Arsenal signed forward Leandro Trossard from Brighton.
