Sources: Major update on Tottenham-Kane contract after talks held
Tottenham have already opened talks with striker Harry Kane over a new deal, sources have told Football Insider.
Kane’s current deal with Spurs expires next summer, and the North London club are desperate to tie down his long-term future with a bumper deal.
Talks are at an early stage but Tottenham have made the contract negotiations a top priority.

Tottenham are turning their full focus to discussions with the 29-year-old England international after holding positive talks with defender Eric Dier about a new deal.
Football Insider sources revealed on Friday (24 February) that Dier has opened talks with Tottenham over a two-year contract extension.
Kane became Tottenham’s record scorer earlier this month after his goal in the 1-0 win over Man City took his tally to 267, surpassing Jimmy Greaves.
He has scored 200 goals in the Premier League, including 17 in 23 appearances this season, and is rapidly closing in on Alan Shearer’s Premier League record of 260.
Kane has spent his entire career at Tottenham after rising through the club’s academy in his youth.

After loan stints at Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich City and Leicester City, Kane broke through into Tottenham’s first team and has grown to become a key player at the club, making 418 appearances across all competitions.
Man City made a £100million bid for Kane last summer, but the move fell through and instead the Premier League champions turned towards Erling Haaland to lead the line.
