Sources: Manchester City explore conditions of Kieran Tierney deal

Man City are actively working to find out if a deal can be done with Arsenal over the transfer of Kieran Tierney, sources have told Football Insider.

Pep Guardiola has highlighted both full-back positions as key areas to add depth in the forthcoming transfer window and the Scotland international, 25, is a target.

Tierney has slipped down the pecking order since the signing last summer of Oleksandr Zinchenko and his game time has been dramatically reduced.

It is understood that Tierney is open to a move and the potential of a fresh challenge with his name on a number of clubs’ targets lists.

Football Insider first revealed Newcastle’s strong interest in the former Celtic star in February, and he remains a key target, while Aston Villa are also monitoring his situation.

It is understood Man City are exploring the conditions of a deal, including how much Tierney would cost and if he would be interested in a move to the Etihad.

The likelihood of the former Celtic man leaving Arsenal this summer is high despite manager Mikel Arteta’s refusal to admit the possibility and continuing to say he has high hopes for Tierney at Arsenal.

Privately, the north Londoners are believed to value the Scot at around the £30million mark and that could be enough to seal a deal for him.

Tierney has made just five Premier League starts among 31 appearances in all competitions this season, which have amounted to 1285 minutes in total.

He has made 118 appearances in total for Arsenal since signing from Celtic for £25m in the summer of 2019.
