Sources: Man City star Aymeric Laporte tells agents to find him a new club
Man City star Aymeric Laporte has told his agents to find him a new club this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The centre-back, 28, wants to reignite his career with a move to a top club where he can be a regular starter.
It is believed that Man City will listen to offers for Laporte – but would rather sell him abroad than to a Premier League rival.
He is no longer part of Pep Guardiola’s first-choice centre-back partnership and sources close to the defender have revealed that he is looking to leave in the summer window.
The Spain international has started just eight Premier League matches this season, including a 90-minute outing in the 2-1 win over Leeds United on Saturday (6 May).
Laporte has played fewer minutes than each of his fellow centre-backs at the Etihad Stadium during the 2022-23 campaign.
Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake, and Manuel Akanji have all been preferred to the 28-year-old – while John Stones has been used in a holding midfield role.
Laporte, who earns a reported wage of £120,000-a-week, is out of contract at Man City in June 2025.
The Citizens spent a reported club-record fee of £57million to sign the defender from Athletic Club in 2018.
Just five years later, Laporte has slipped down the pecking order and has made just 20 appearances across all competitions.
He has won four Premier League titles, four League Cups and an FA Cup during his time at the club.

Man City could add a domestic treble to that trophy hoard – with a Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid set to kick off with the first leg on Tuesday (9 May).
Guardiola’s side lead the Premier League by one point and face rivals Man United in the FA Cup final next month (3 June).
