Sources: Man United make decision on signing ‘£80m’ Chelsea player

Manchester United will only make a move for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson if the price is right, sources have told Football Insider.

Jackson has been heavily linked with a Stamford Bridge exit this summer, after the Blues signed Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.

However, sources say that United are in a difficult financial position, and they can’t afford to sign the 24-year-old if Chelsea set a high asking price.

Reportedly, the West London side want over £80million for the Senegal international, which would be too expensive for the Red Devils (Sky Sports).

Amorim’s priority at Man United is a number nine

Sources say that Ruben Amorim is now prioritising the signing of a number nine, as Man United look to replace the underwhelming Rasmus Hojlund up front.

After confirming the additions of Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, Amorim now has his sights firmly set on a new striker.

United have a number of names on their shortlist, and Football Insider exclusively revealed that Benjamin Sesko is also a target for the Manchester club.

Sesko was the subject of heavy interest from Arsenal, but the Gunners eventually opted to sign Viktor Gyokeres instead.

Man United exodus intensifies

Meanwhile, Man United’s exodus is intensifying with a cabal of superstars to follow Marcus Rashford through the exit door, sources have told Football Insider.

Rashford is expected to complete a loan move to Barcelona in the coming days, ending his 20-year stay at Old Trafford.

The Spanish giants will pay all of the 27-year-old’s wages, and there is an option-to-buy clause included in the deal.

However, sources say that despite the financial burden of the winger’s wages being lifted, United still need to get rid of some of their big-name players not wanted by Amorim.
