Sources: Man United make Jadon Sancho transfer decision ahead of January
Man United will let Jadon Sancho leave when his contract expires next summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The forward, who is on loan at Aston Villa, will be allowed to leave on a free transfer five years after joining for £73million.
Sources say Man United do not see Sancho, 25, as part of their long-term plans and will not offer him an extension, or take up an option to extend his contract by 12 months.
United would let Sancho go in January, if he is recalled from Villa, but would require a transfer fee to be paid at that point.
Football Insider revealed on Thursday (6 November) that Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Sancho for a third time.
This follows permanent and loan spells at the German big guns for the former Man City academy product.

Sancho has struggled at United and will see out his contract on loan at Aston Villa
Sancho arrived at United in 2021 with the hope that he could become a key man in the years to come at Old Trafford, but his time at the club has not worked out and he is now soon set to leave for good.
A fall-out with Erik ten Hag saw him re-join Dortmund on loan in January 2024, while he also made a loan move to Chelsea for the 2024-25 campaign but failed to ever truly impress.
The 25-year-old joined Villa for the season in deadline day, and sources revealed to Football Insider last month that Man United see no future for Sancho at their club amid his struggles to make a mark on Unai Emery‘s side.
Football Insider also revealed following his move to the Second City that, despite his poor form in recent seasons, Sancho will be targeted by top clubs next summer after Dortmund and Juventus were both interested in him ahead of this campaign
Ruben Amorim planning to block January exits from United
Sancho was not the only player aiming to leave the Red Devils over the summer window, but he was able to seal an exit while some wantaway stars were forced to stay put.
Kobbie Mainoo and Joshua Zirkzee are two of those, but despite targeting January departures, former Man United chief scout Mick Brown has told Football Insider that Ruben Amorim wants to keep the same squad for the remainder of the season.

Football Insider revealed on 1 November that Man United will block Zirkzee’s exit in January as he remains an important part of the manager’s plans.
Mainoo has reportedly identified Napoli as his first-choice club to join in the new year, but his United woes look set to continue alongside his Dutch teammate instead.
