Sources: Man United make Mason Greenwood U-turn

Man United are open to loaning out Mason Greenwood on deadline day due to a shortage of takers, sources have told Football Insider.

La Liga side Getafe have made an offer to sign the forward on loan with a lack of interest in permanent deals for the forward.

United confirmed earlier this month the 21-year-old would leave the club by mutual agreement after a six-month internal investigation into his conduct.

Greenwood, whose contract at Old Trafford runs until 2025, could now be sold, or loaned to another club for the remainder of his contract.

United originally only wanted a permanent sale but have had to change their stance amid a lack of interest across the market.

The one-time England international came through the ranks at Man United.

He was prolific at youth level before making his senior debut for the Red Devils in 2019.

Greenwood notched 35 goals and 12 assists in 129 appearances across all competitions for the Old Trafford club.

The Bradford-born forward primarily played on the right flank but can also lead the line.

Man United have moved to add a new box-office striker earlier this summer, completing the reported £72million signing of Denmark international Rasmus Hojlund.

Anthony Martial also remains on the books at Old Trafford and made his first start in the new campaign in the home win against Nottingham Forest last week (26 August).
