Sources: Man United terms for Amad Diallo deal revealed as Sunderland make new move
Sunderland want to bring Man United forward Amad Diallo back on loan this month, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed that the Black Cats are working on a new move to reunite with the 21-year-old, who spent last season on loan from the Red Devils.
Well-placed sources told Football Insider that United are willing to let Diallo depart for the remainder of the season and would demand that his wages be split 50-50 with Michael Beale’s side.
They would also not include an option to buy on the Ivory Coast international, who has made just 10 senior appearances for Erik ten Hag’s side since joining for a reported £37.2million from Atalanta in 2021.
Diallo enjoyed a prolific season at the Stadium of Light in the 2022-23 season, scoring 14 goals and providing four assists across 42 appearances in all competitions.
Sunderland sporting director Kristjaan Speakman confirmed that the club have enquired about Diallo’s availability this month and revealed that they remain in contact with the versatile attacker.
He has made just one appearance for United this season having only recently recovered from a knee injury sustained during United’s pre-season friendly over Arsenal in July.
Diallo earned his first minutes of the season as a second-half substitute in United’s 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest last month (30 December) but has not made the matchday squad for any subsequent games in all competitions.
Sources also told Football Insider (21 January) that Birmingham City had made an approach for attacker Alex Pritchard, who recently expressed his desire to leave Sunderland and is no longer available for matchday selection.

Sunderland sit seventh in the Championship table following their 3-1 win against Stoke City on Saturday (27 January).
They are next in action against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Sunday 1 February.
