Sources: Man United working on three more marquee arrivals as new sacking revealed
Man United are expected to continue their senior staff overhaul with three more marquee appointments in the next few weeks, sources have told Football Insider.
Sources say the Premier League giants are working on deals to hire a new sporting director, head of recruitment and technical chief scout.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has already made sweeping changes behind the scenes at Old Trafford, with Richard Arnold leaving his role as CEO to be replaced with former Man City chief Omar Berrada.
United’s new owners have also sacked football negotiations manager Sam Barnett, who had worked with the club’s recruitment team since 2020.
Barnett’s exit is not expected to be the last at United, with director of football John Murtough also at risk of losing his job.
It is understood that Ratcliffe’s INEOS team wants a more experienced figure in charge of football operations.
Newcastle United’s Dan Ashworth, who was hired by the Tyneside club following their PiF takeover, is the top target to replace Murtough.
A new Head of Recruitment is also a top priority with INEOS wanting to address to poor transfer decisions made at Old Trafford over the past decade.
The Manchester giants have spent over £1.5billion since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
As revealed on the Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Man United paid £44million above Inter Milan’s original valuation for Andre Onana last summer.

Reports also state that United overpaid by £60million when signing Antony from Ajax in 2022.
United are pushing for all staff changes to be made in time for the start of the 2024-25 season, when Berrada officially begins his role as CEO.
