Sources: Motherwell agree to re-sign Leeds United star Stuart McKinstry as medical lined up
Motherwell have agreed to re-sign Leeds United midfielder Stuart McKinstry, sources have told Football Insider.
The 19-year-old is set to head back to his old club in Scotland on a season-long loan following a breakthrough in talks.
Motherwell have reached an agreement with Leeds after beating Scottish rivals as well as English League Two outfit Hartlepool United to a deal.

McKinstry is expected for a medical as well as to put pen to paper in the next days.
The midfielder has reportedly hit an impasse in contract talks with Leeds United – with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.
The former Scotland Under-17 international penned his last contract extension in 2020.
McKinstry failed to appear for Motherwell before leaving for up to £400,000 in July 2019 but is now set to return to his boyhood club.
The central midfielder, who can also play on both flanks, has made just two senior appearances for Leeds United – both from the substitutes’ bench.
McKinstry has notched four goals and eight assists in 50 games for the Whites’ youth sides since joining the club.
Football Insider revealed loan interest from Championship trio Stoke City, Coventry City and Blackpool earlier this year (2 January) – but then-boss Marcelo Bielsa was reluctant to let him depart amid an injury crisis.
Leeds United have let a number of starlets depart temporarily this summer as manager Jesse Marsch adds more senior quality to his squad.

Charlie Cresswell, Leif Davis, and Jamie Shackleton have all joined EFL clubs on loan in order to further their development.
Marsch’s side sit sixth in the Premier League after two games – despite selling star men Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips.
