
Sources: Newcastle turn their attention to signing Dan Burn in new defender twist
Newcastle United have now turned their attention to a late move for Brighton defender Dan Burn, Football Insider understands.
The Magpies are have set their sights on the 6ft 7in centre-back, who can also play left-back, to shore up their defence in the final days of the window.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Eddie Howe has sanctioned a move for Burn as he is a left-sided centre-back and is experienced in the Premier League.

The 29-year-old is in the final 18 months of his contract at Brighton and Newcastle feel the boyhood Magpies fan could be lured away from the south Coast.
The Magpies are in the market for central defenders but have been unable to add to their current options as yet.

Born in the north east town of Blyth, Burn was released by Newcastle as an 11-year-old.
After spells for several regional sides, the defender signed his first professional contract at Darlington.
He joined Fulham in 2011 and played 69 times for the Cottagers before being released in 2016.
The centre-back then spent two years at Wigan Athletic before joining Brighton.
He has gone on to play 85 times for the Seagulls, while he has 83 Premier League appearances under his belt.
