Sources: Newcastle agree four more deals as Howe makes his mark

Newcastle United have tied up four more hires after agreeing terms with Eddie Howe, Football Insider has learned.

This site revealed this morning that the 43-year-old has reached a full agreement with United to become their new manager after breaking the news at Wednesday lunchtime (3 November) he was in advanced talks to take over.

A Newcastle source has told Football Insider that Howe will be joined by a four-strong backroom team in making the move up to the north-east.

His former Cherries number two Jason Tindall will link up with him again as assistant manager, while Simon Weatherstone and Stephen Purches (coaches) and Dan Hodges (fitness) will also join the staff.

Graeme Jones will be named as the first-team coach in the new set-up, effectively the number three to Howe.

The former Bournemouth boss made clear during negotiations he is happy to work alongside Jones, the assistant manager to Bruce who has stepped in as caretaker boss for the last two matches.

Jones spoke to the media at Friday’s press conference and revealed he will remain in charge for Saturday evening’s Premier League clash against Brighton.

Howe is set to be announced as the new boss in the next 24 hours, with his four staff joining him.

Newcastle are putting the finishing touches to negotiations.

All parties are confident there will be no late hitches, although there will be scepticism until a deal is done following the collapse of Unai Emery talks earlier in the week.

Newcastle are winless from 10 Premier League matches this season and travel to Brighton on Saturday evening for a 5.30pm kick-off.

As it stands, they are six points adrift of safety with 28 games still to play.
