Sources: Newcastle United handed boost in bid to sign Arsenal star Kieran Tierney
Arsenal are expected to be open to offers for Newcastle United summer target Kieran Tierney, sources have told Football Insider.
The London giants are planning to spend big again in the main window and will need to offload some of their fringe stars to raise funds.
One of those could be Tierney, who Football Insider revealed last month (February 19) is being monitored by Newcastle as they assess the market for a new left-back this summer who can slot straight into their starting XI.

Arsenal have accumuated a net spend of about £330million since Mikel Arteta took charge in December 2019, including about £50m in the recently-shut January window – and that does not included the failed £70m pursuit of Moises Caicedo.
With the Gunners planning to spend big on a new midfielder in the summer, with Declan Rice also a top target, there will need to be sales to balance the books.
One player who could raise a significant fee is Tierney, the deputy left-back squeezed out by the excellent form of 2022 signing Aleksandr Zinchenko.
Tierney, 25, has started only four Premier League matches among his 26 appearances in all competitions this season, many of them as a substitute.
The former Celtic star, who is valued around the £30million mark, is firmly on Newcastle’s radar, while the club also have an interest in Fulham’s Antonee Robinson, with Man City also keen on him.
Despite Newcastle’s interest in signing a left-back, they are also lining up new contract talks for current first-choice Dan Burn.
He is highly regarded by Eddie Howe and the coaching staff, with his versatility and experience valued highly at St James’ Park.

Tierney was a regular starter for Mikel Arteta last season, but ended the season on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on his knee.
He is in his fourth season in north London after joining Arsenal from Celtic – where he won four league titles – for £25m in the summer of 2019.
