Sources: Newcastle United submit £25m Martin Terrier bid amid Everton twist
Newcastle United have submitted a £25million bid for Rennes attacker Martin Terrier, sources have told Football Insider.
The north-east giants have tabled bids for multiple forwards before the window shuts and have now turned their attention to Terrier, 25.
Rennes are working on securing the left-sided forward to a new contract and his public stance is he would like to stay at the French club.

Newcastle are hoping their formal move – with the bid believed to be in the region of £25m – will change the player’s stance.
Terrier has been a target for a number of Premier League clubs including Everton after impressing for Rennes.
He scored 21 Ligue 1 goals from 37 matches last season and has netted 31 times from 86 Rennes games, supplemented by 15 assists.
The Magpies have failed to bolster their attacking options this summer.
Questions remain over the quality of players like Miguel Almiron and Jacob Murphy while Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser have both struggled for fitness in recent seasons.
Wilson has started the season in fine form, scoring two goals in his three outings though he was substituted off against Man City on Sunday (21 August) while complaining of a hamstring issue.
Eddie Howe confirmed on Monday (22 August) that the striker has been sent for a scan on his most recent knock.

Terrier primarily plays on the left-hand side of an attacking three but has played through the middle and on the right on a number of occasions.
He has started all three of Rennes’ games this season, scoring once.
