Sources: Newcastle United to increase Livramento bid by £10m after new talks

Newcastle are ready to submit a new and improved offer for right-back Tino Livramento, sources have told Football Insider.

The Magpies have already had a £15million bid for the 20-year-old rejected by Southampton.

But Eddie Howe’s team are planning to increase their offer as they look to secure an agreement with the Championship club.

Newcastle remain in talks over a deal and are believed to be ready to go as high as £25million to get a deal done for the former Chelsea youngster.

Livramento is one of Eddie Howe’s top targets this summer as he looks to strengthen his defensive options.

Football Insider exclusively revealed last week (11 July) that the full-back is on Newcastle’s transfer shortlist alongside Wolves’ Hugo Bueno and Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney.

The Southampton star only returned from a horror anterior cruciate ligament injury at the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

He made two substitute appearances in the final games of the season after 13 months on the sidelines.

Livramento joined Southampton from Chelsea for a reported £5million in 2021 and thrilled supporters in his first season at the club, notching one goal and two assists in 32 outings.

The Blues reportedly have a buy-back option for the England Under-21 international which is worth £38million and becomes active this summer.

Chelsea also have a hefty sell-on clause inserted into the deal.

Newcastle

Newcastle currently have Kieran Trippier, Javi Manquillo and Emil Krafth capable of playing at right-back.

The Magpies have already wrapped up a mega-money deal for Italy international Sandro Tonali this summer.
