Sources: Newcastle would accept Saint-Maximin offer
Newcastle United will consider offers for winger Allan Saint-Maximin this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed the 26-year-old will be the subject of interest yet again in the coming months after recent reports linking him to Italian giants AC Milan.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is happy to let Saint-Maximin depart St James’ Park this summer – if the right offer arrives.
Any fee received will boost the Magpies’ summer war chest as they look to do big-money business of their own.
Saint-Maximin has three years left to run on his Newcastle contract – which nets him a reported wage of £70,000-a-week.
He made 31 appearances across all competitions in the 2022-23 campaign, notching one goal and five assists.
However, the Frenchman managed just 14 starts in those outings – with injury and poor form keeping him out of Howe’s first-choice starting eleven.
Saint-Maximin’s involvement was diluted further after the reported £45million arrival of England Under-21 winger Anthony Gordon in the January window.
Speaking after the final game of the 2022-23 season, Howe insisted Saint-Maximin’s future will be “dictated by him”.
The winger, who cost a reported £20million after add-ons, has managed 13 goals and 21 assists since joining Newcastle from Nice in 2019.
Howe’s side will play Champions League football for the first time in 20 years next season after finishing fourth in the Premier League table.

Football Insider revealed last week (2 June) that Newcastle are now the frontrunners to seal a box-office summer deal for Leicester star James Maddison.
Meanwhile, the Tyneside club are also intensifying their efforts to sign Fenerbahce attacking midfield sensation Arda Guler.
