Sources: Next Chelsea manager: Three-name shortlist revealed

Chelsea have drawn up a shortlist of three managers to replace Graham Potter, sources have told Football Insider.

The Blues are willing to keep faith with Potter despite poor recent results, but the club also have an emergency plan on standby in case he is unable to turn things around at Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino, Luis Enrique and Zinedine Zidane have been highlighted as potential managerial replacements by the Chelsea board.

However, they are aware that no top managerial target is likely to step in and take charge of the club at this stage of the season.

Potter made a strong start to his Chelsea reign after replacing Thomas Tuchel in September, but the form of the London club has since plummeted.

The Blues are now winless in their last six matches and have scored just one goal in that period.

Football Insider sources revealed on Friday (3 March) that Potter plans to unveil a new tactical system at Chelsea with new roles for Reece James and Ben Chilwell.

Potter is under huge pressure to improve results, starting with Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.

Pochettino, Enrique and Zidane are all currently out of a job, but Chelsea are aware that without Champions League qualification they will struggle to attract an elite coach.

Finishing outside the top four looks increasingly likely for Chelsea this season, with the club currently sitting 10th in the Premier League and 14 points off fourth-placed Tottenham.
