Sources: Oliver Glasner edges closer to joining new club after Crystal Palace bust-up

Oliver Glasner is subject to interest from clubs across Europe ahead of his contract expiring at Crystal Palace, sources have told Football Insider.

The Austrian currently has the Eagles flying high in the Premier League table, as they are sitting fourth despite also juggling a UEFA Conference League campaign.

Glasner heavily criticised the Crystal Palace board after their recent defeat to Manchester United, and sources have now indicated to Football Insider that several clubs are keeping close tabs on his situation as a result.

The FA Cup-winning boss is out of contract at Selhurst Park at the end of the season, and his recent suggestions towards the club hierarchy have prompted plenty of speculation that a departure could be on the cards.

Oliver Glasner’s reputation is strong as Premier League clubs eye move

Premier League legend Matt Le Tissier told Football Insider back in September that Glasner could be a perfect replacement for Ruben Amorim at Manchester United, and a move akin to that could soon become reality for the Palace chief.

Sources have now suggested that there are clubs in the Premier League and beyond that are eyeing up a move for Glasner in the aftermath of his recent comments.

It is understood that the 51-year-old has massively strengthened his reputation within the game as a result of the job that he has done in South London, and that is set to heighten the interest in him.

The Crystal Palace board are currently doing everything they can to try and keep hold of Glasner, but the frustrations that have set in of late could prove too big for them to overcome.

Glasner to quit Crystal Palace as private talks revealed

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider on Sunday that Glasner is set to walk away from Crystal Palace at the end of the season.

Brown stated his belief that Glasner’s decision to air his frustrations with the board in public is an indication that the two parties have already held talks in private and haven’t reached a satisfactory agreement.

The manager’s discontent stems from the perceived lack of backing that he feels he has received in recent transfer windows, and Brown believes that his recent comments suggest that significant investment is not planned in January.

If that does prove to be the case, then it could represent the final straw in Glasner’s eyes as his contract runs towards its conclusion.
