Sources: QPR, Huddersfield Town, Bolton Wanderers and Charlton Athletic in hunt to sign Jack Hunt

Queens Park Rangers, Huddersfield Town, Bolton and Charlton are in the hunt to sign Jack Hunt on a free transfer, sources have told Football Insider.

Hunt, 32, is a free agent after leaving Sheffield Wednesday at the start of the month upon the expiration of his contract at Hillsborough.

The right-back possesses a wealth of experience at higher levels, with most of his football coming in the Championship.

Hunt made 26 appearances in all competitions for Wednesday last season playing a key role in their successful promotion to the Championship scoring the winning penalty against Peterborough in the play-off semi-finals and helping the Owls overcome Barnsley in the final.

The experienced operator played 108 times for Wednesday between 2016 and 2018, before rejoining the club in 2021, where went on to make 55 appearences in a two-year period.

Hunt made 109 appearances after signing for Bristol City in between his two spells at Sheffield Wednesday, as he also went on to score three goals for his former side.

The full-back was close to making his Premier League debut after signing for Crystal Palace in 2013, but a serious ankle injury prevented him from doing so.

QPR

Hunt spent five seasons in total with Sheffield Wednesday, with three of those seasons being played in the Championship.

With interest from Queens Park Rangers and Huddersfield, it means that he could once again play in England’s second tier or he could decide to go lower down with Charlton or Bolton, as the two clubs are also interested.
