
Sources: Rangers accelerate moves on two new signings
Rangers are exploring deals to sign a striker and a left-back as they accelerate plans to bolster their squad in the January transfer window following the headline signing of Fabio Silva, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed that a striker is Philippe Clement’s top priority while the left-back position is an area in which the club are interested in improving.
Sources have told Football Insider that Rangers are eyeing up small fees and loan deals following their heavy spending in the summer.

The Gers will be operating on a different budget to rivals Celtic, who will have a bigger transfer kitty to utilise in the winter window.
The Ibrox club are not expected to have a largely active window but the manager is keen on boosting to his squad to continue his excellent start to life at Ibrox since joining in October.
Rangers announced their first capture on Thursday evening when Silva joined on loan from Wolves for the rest of the season.
Rangers reportedly spent £14.7million this summer on Michael Beale’s signings including Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers and Danilo – many of whom have underperformed since arriving.
Left-back Borna Barisic’s contract is set to expire at the end of this season and it remains unclear if his deal will be extended.
Ridvan Yilmaz has struggled to nail down his place in the defence since his reported £5.3million move from Besiktas in the summer of 2022.
Football Insider revealed earlier this month (17 December) that the board are ready to back Clement after his impressive start.
Sources have also told Football Insider (27 December) that the Gers have registered their interest in Wolves striker Fabio Silva ahead of a potential January move.

Rangers remain second in the league and will next visit Parkhead for their Old Firm clash against Celtic on Saturday (30 December).
