Sources: Rangers could accept Borna Barisic offer as French and Turkish clubs circle

Borna Barisic could leave Rangers in the summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Clubs in Turkey and France are interested in the defender and the Gers could accept a bid at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old will have a year left on his Ibrox contract in the summer after signing an extension in 2020.

The Croatian joined the Light Blues from NK Osijek in 2018 and has made 196 appearances for the club in that time.

Barisic has been the favoured left-back for the Gers this season despite the arrival of Ridvan Yilmaz last summer.

The Turkey international joined the Ibrox club on a five-year deal for a reported fee of £3.4million.

But the 21-year-old has struggled for game time under previous boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst as well as current manager Michael Beale.

Yilmaz has also struggled with injury since his arrival in Glasgow and has made just nine appearances for the Gers this season, only four of which have been in the Scottish Premiership.

Barisic has made 41 appearances for the Bears this season and has scored two goals and provided 11 assists in those outings.

The defender was also included in Croatia’s squad for the World Cup in Qatar in December.

Although he made five appearances in the qualifiers leading up to the competition in Qatar, Barisic only featured once for the side during their actual World Cup campaign in their round of 16 win over Japan.
